Getting real life job experience is something that jobs in most fields require, the Capsim simulation was a perfect way to get a taste of what the real world will be like. I believe being placed in teams and in a competitive environment really motivated me to engage the course material so that in could help give my team more of a competitive edge. Before taking this course I did not know how or why the different functional areas of business interacted with one another. Through the simulation the skill I learned where strategic thinking, decision making, problem solving, data analysis and teamwork. These learned skills became more polished while I was learning to run the company, working and dealing with different personalities.

Making goals and milestones are in important and helps stay efficient while in the simulation. For example, when figuring out when to issue company stock the whole group came to an agreement that if our stock reached a certain amount of value we would sell if not we would wait until the next year. Second was the lesson of decision making, in the course I learned appealing to the customer is the most important thing about running a business. The decisions that were made by myself and the company where made according to the wants of the customer. Theses decision came mostly in to play when deciding the size and the other specifications of the product.
