As I approached the Chick-fil-A, which is fairly average size building for a fast food restaurant, the scent of chicken filled the air. I noticed outside that the restaurant had different advertising posters on each of the lamp posts surrounding the parking lot. The drive-thru line was backed up almost to where it reach the front part of the building. The neighboring fast food chain, Panda Express, had just one car in its drive-thru. When I entered, I was met with a friendly, “Welcome to Chick-fil-A.” I stood about ten feet away from the cashier to allow people to go in front of me while I was looking at the menu, deciding what to get. This time is typically the most popular for fast food restaurants because of rush hour and other related events, such as sporting events starting or ending. The fact that the majority of the customers were female could be related to the roles that women played in the hunter gather era when females would take of the children and gather dinner. A total of the twelve kids on the first day were accompanied by either their mother or some other female patron in their life. Most fast food chains typically have just enough to make the customers have a pleasurable experience, but Chick-fil-A goes over the top to make sure its customers have the best experience possible. The fast food chain even tries to get more involved in the community. Inside the bathroom, the company has complementary mouthwash for their customers and a step stool under the sink so shorter patrons can elevate themselves to wash their hands. Additionally, it has shoe polish right outside the bathroom where customers wearing nicer clothes than the common pedestrian can go and give their shoes a fresh shine. This aspect could lead one to believe that upper class people go there for a quick meal more often than they go to some of the lower scale restaurants. Chick-fil-A offers a higher quality of food, which typically means it will be affecting the customer’s wallet in the long run. The chain also provides more services for their customers, such as mouthwash and shoe polish, and different events that go on during the year, such as “Bingo” and “Halloween at Chick-fil-A” (Poster) advertised for the month of October. Bingo and other events allow employees to get to know the community more. “Halloween at Chick-fil-A” (Poster) allows the same thing but appeals more to college students since it is close to a college campus and provides free
