The tube progressively closes as the edges of the plate fuse together; this process is frequently complete by four weeks after beginning. The neural tube continues to change, eventually attractive the brain and spinal cord.
About seven weeks after start the first neurons and synapses begin to develop in the spinal cord. Early in the second trimester, gyri and sulci begin to seem on the brain’s surface; by the end of this trimester, this method is almost complete.
