1. Intro to Childhood Obesity The Topic that I chose for my research paper is Childhood Obesity. This topic is something that has been discussed for many years and is considered an epidemic in today’s world. But let me post a question. Is it a disease or is it a disorder? Or is it a little bit of both? I myself have suffered from childhood obesity and let me tell you it was not a cup of tea. I still am overweight and honestly will be until I do something about it. This is where my question comes in; is it a disease or a disorder? Obesity is not something that you can catch, like say small pocks. You can’t get it from transfer of fluids. It not something that is biologically contagious. It can be cured unlike cancer. Now can it cause diseases or health disorders? Preventing Childhood Obesity.
So basically, the best way to keep child hood obesity from happening is prevention. We as parents play a vital role in the prevention of our kids becoming overweight. Obesity can start as early as when our starts to be able to choose what they will and will not eat. It also can help to have a pediatrician look at your child at an early age to help see the signs of obesity and be about to stop it from happening. (Dill, Mogolia, 2017)
We as parents must start regulating what our children eat at a young age. We must make sure they are getting the amount of physical activity and exercise they need to stay healthy. I would have to say though that regulating what your child eats is probably one of the hardest things that you will do as a parent. I mean let’s face it we live in a day and age where it’s easier and cheaper to eat fast food and junk food then it is to eat healthy. If I could change it I would make where it is cheaper to eat healthy. Making the foods that we are needing to provide for our family to eat healthy is more readily
