My passion for teaching children came as a result of me having a family of educators and babysitting. Helping children and preparing them for their next level of education seemed to be interesting. I decided to attend Columbia College to study Elementary Education. While attending the “Dessert Social” sponsored by College Place United Methodist Church, the director of Children’s Garden Child Development Center spoke about opportunities for Columbia College students to help out with the Child Development Center. As the opportunity presented itself I thought it would be a great idea as I search for work pertaining to my major; so I decided to make the Children’s Garden Child Development Center my subculture. The primary focus of Children’s Garden Child Development Center is: Encourage life long learning, while shaping and preparing families and children to succeed educationally, socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually in today’s world (Children’s Garden Child Development Center). From past experiences, I know that the main purpose of a Child Development Center is to teach children and prepare them for the next phase in their educational career. While working at New Israel Child Development Center in, Charleston, South Carolina; parents were provided the option of receiving these benefits. All child development centers differ and each may offer the same, or equivalent resources for the children who attend. It is important to me that no matter where children gain their development that their best interest is being considered and also their personalized needs. College Place Children’s Garden Child Development center is the epitome of
