Christopher Columbus was an explorer who was known to discover the new world. There was another side to Christopher Columbus that they don’t talk about. Columbus first set foot in Hispaniola where he encountered a group of native that was called the Taino. And that is why I am grateful to have learned many details that shine the light on the way that Christopher Columbus actually was like, a villain. I have my reasons for considering Columbus a villain. For example Because of him there is much less diversity in animals. And if that wasn’t bad enough he is also the reason why there are very few native americans left.

In reality Christopher was trying to get to China and thought he was in Japan all 4 times he went to North America. He was actually in what is now the Bahamas and Cuba. And really Christopher didn't even discover America. The Native Americans beat Columbus by thousands of years.

Every year in school, you hear about a man named Christopher Columbus, who supposedly discovered America. Many people do not know that there is much more to Christopher Columbus than you have been taught. Most believe that he was just an innocent young man who wanted to discover new routes to Asia. However, he was actually a terrible man. Columbus was a bad man because he was a greedy, cruel, credit stealer.
I agree that his accidental discovery ultimately led to the massacre of countless Natives. Although, he might be considered a hero for 'discovering ' the New World. However, there were several who came before him and inhabited the land, such as the Natives. Thus, the impossibility of discovering something that had already been in place. For this reason, I would not consider Columbus a hero.

Christopher Columbus is well known as the person who discovered the Americas. We even have a holiday called “Columbus Day” to honor him. However he does not deserve this credit due to the way he treated the Native Americans, the legacy he left behind and the fact that he didn’t discover anything. Christopher punished those who questioned him, forced rape upon the Natives and forced the Native Americans to move west. He left behind a legacy of slavery, greed and genocide.
