Classroom Management Philosophy

As a parent, I would want my child in this teacher’s classroom based on my observation of the classroom management plan in action. Seeing the management plan in action showed how well it worked, and how much it helped keep the classroom safe and peaceful while still allowing the students to develop and learn. The teacher expressed to me the importance of having a schedule, making sure the students know the schedule, and sticking to this schedule. She said that when you change the plan or schedule that is when behavior problems appear and chaos happens. How the teacher handles behavior problems is by asking the child to please stop this behavior. This helps instill independence in the children, and helps promote an atmosphere where the students understand what is expected of them. This is another reason why I would want my own child to be in this classroom. It is evident that the students are aware of the rules. This can be seen when the teacher is giving instructions the students are listening attentively, and do what the teacher says. I think it is very important for students to understand and be knowledgeable of the rules so they know why they may be getting in trouble and what is acceptable in the classroom. This not only keeps everyone safe,it also allows the students to develop, explore, and have fun without having to worry about getting in trouble. Another reason I would want my child in this classroom is because the students are engaged in their learning and want to participate. I believe it is very important that the students have a desire to participate, engage, and learn. Especially at such a young age, it is important to instill this desire to help prepare the students and set the tone for their future in
