Workplace communication
Clear and effective communication is an essential in the workplace to achieve productivity and to build good working relationships in all areas of your organisation.
Employers and Manages who invest time and energy into delivering clear lines of communication will quickly build trust amongst stuff, clients, customers and any other work based relationship with in the organisation. This can help to an increases in productivity, performance and a higher since of morale in general.
Communication needs to be clear and given with clarity wither that be written or verbal. For example, In my company we try to ensure this by having regular Production meetings, Manages meeting and staff meeting on farm. This help to relay information …show more content…

I will be the sender in this example. The message is information to be conveyed. I will also need to encode my message, which is transforming my thoughts of the information to be conveyed into a form that can be sent, such as words.
A channel of communication must now be selected, which is the method which the message is sent. Channels of communication include speaking, writing, video, audio, emails, text messages and faxes. You can also communicate by sign language or even body language. I now need to select the target of my communication. This person is called the receiver.
The receiver must be able to decode the message, which means they mentally have to process the message into understanding. If you can't decode, the message fails. For example, if I was verbally trying to give a message across a loud busy farm yard this may result in decoding failure.
Sometimes, a receiver will give the sender feedback, which is a message sent by the receiver back to the sender. For example, the receiver may reply to me across the farm yard using body language such as giving me a thumbs up or possibly expressing they didn't hear me. Emotional barriers Some people may find it difficult to express their emotions.
3. Lack of attention, interest, distractions, or irrelevance to the receiver.
4. Differences in perception and viewpoint.
5. Physical disabilities such as hearing problems or speech difficulties.
6. Physical barriers to non-verbal communication. Not being able to see the non-verbal cues, gestures, posture and general body language can make communication less effective.
7. Language differences and the difficulty in understanding unfamiliar accents.
8. Expectations and prejudices which may lead to false assumptions or stereotyping. People often hear what they expect to hear rather than what is actually said and jump to incorrect conclusions.
9. Cultural differences. The norms of social interaction vary greatly in different cultures, as do the way in which emotions are expressed. For example, the concept of personal space varies between cultures and between different social settings.

Solutions to overcome barriers
1. Keep information to the point and don't use slang or unfamiliar terms.
2. Have a one to one conversation and try to put yourself in there shoes.
3. Keep it relevant and find interesting ways to get the message
