My life has been full of situations that have shaped me into the person I am today. Good and bad, I have found ways to look at life with a positive attitude. Even when I am having a bad day I am still able to motivate my peers and commit myself to any tasks I might face that day. I believe through all my life experiences I have learned my true talents, which also have brought me to the commitments I have made to this day. My job, my school work, and my family are big factors that have helped me realize helping people is what I want to do for the rest of my life. When I think about all the life experiences I have had, the main thing that comes to my mind is my work life. I have worked at a high behavior group home for the last 3 and a half years. Over these years so many events have strengthen me to be a more patient and understanding person. One particular event was when one of my clients need the Heimlich maneuver and I stepped up. I was able to stay calm and successful perform this maneuver. I have had to deal with clients aggressive behaviors, but day in and day out I still arrive to work with a smile. I have grown up with three younger brothers whom I have had to help take care of at a young age, due to the absence of my father. I have helped raise them to be hardworking, and respectful young men. When working with my clients my leadership skills also show through. On a daily basis I show them how to perform daily tasks such as self-hygiene and vocational skills that could potentially help them get a job one day.
