Personal Statement

1.What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed or demonstrated that talent over time?

My greatest skill would be having the ability to learn a new instrument during my 4 years in high school. Learning a new instrument takes a lot of work and being in 2 music classes(symphony and philharmonic)is a very rigorous task. Though i love playing an instrument and learning news things, there are many outside of school hours that i had to put in myself. This is very beneficial to me in the way that it taught me how to be a more responsible person and also increased the capacity of my memory. Despite all of my challenges, I still chose to overcome my obstacles to prove to myself that I do have the potential of being what I want to be as a person. Personally, I think this sets me apart from the other candidates in the sense that I've had some many issues that I had to deal with and still continued to persevere through anything life threw at me. I feel that I am a strong and positive person because I didn't have a fair advantage academically during my high school years since I wasn't there for most of it. I know that I would have gotten better grades my first two years in high school if I wasn't out so much. Which is the reason being that I wanted my last two years of high school to be the two years that I was most proud of. My problems that I've overcome have shaped me into being a well-founded person because I keep track of my work that I need to do and over the years my note taking skills have improved.
