Attending medical school has been a dream of mine for several years. This desire came into fruition long ago, and I have found that the idea of practicing medicine is continually able to spark an excitement in me that no other potential career can. I am perpetually driven to make my dreams a reality, and the experiences I have undergone throughout my life have molded me into an exceptional candidate for attending medical school.
There are several reasons why I want to pursue medicine as a career. However, the most significant factor influencing this desire is my innate empathy towards others and my belief in aiding others within the community. Either directly or indirectly, hundreds, if not thousands of people take part in one’s growth. For instance, once I find interest in something, I obtain an insatiable drive for working towards it. I believe in providing maximum effort in order to produce fruitful results. This work ethic came to be during my twelve years of practicing karate. As a child, I often gave up on tasks that did not result in immediate success. After I began practicing karate, my perspective slowly but surely changed. Under the tutelage of my sensei, I learned that the end result one achieves is even more satisfying once you surpass the obstacles you face, and that determination and patience is required in order to strive for your dreams. I also learned during these years that despite one’s uncertainty in their own abilities, remaining stagnant and fearful of what may be is not conducive to progressing through life.
