Throughout high school many students dream of the perfect college, unfortunately it can take time to find the right fit. There are many factors in choosing a college that will benefit a student best. No college is the same, so it is important to learn as much as possible about each prospective school. Considering the location, majors, and tuition will help when determining what college fits a person's needs advantageously. When comparing Point Loma Nazarene University and Olivet Nazarene University it is clear that Olivet is a more desirable school.
The biggest factor when picking between ONU and PLNU is their location. Olivet is located in the Midwest. With a Great Lakes small suburb feel, Olivet is only an hour South of Chicago, Illinois. The University itself sits on two hundred fifty acres. Contrary to ONU, Point Loma is located on the West Coast. PLNU’s setting is a large city feel, sitting right inside San Diego, California. Because Point Loma is located in the city, their campus is substantially smaller with only 90 acres. As a result of PLNU’s smaller campus size, they have about one thousand less undergraduates than ONU.

Olivet offers over one hundred majors. ONU has nine Schools of Professional Studies. These are well known prestigious programs. With a remarkable job placement rate, Olivet created a website where companies and alumni post jobs. Because of this website, students can apply for jobs and in most cases get hired. Unlike ONU, PLNU only offers sixty-three majors. Since Point Loma does not have as many majors, they only have four Schools of Professional Studies.
