Comparing Kylie And Tyga In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is over four hundred years old, and Kylie and Tyga are living right now, so somebody may ask, how can we correlate them? Romeo and Juliet was a play about two star crossed lovers, but many factors made sure they were not together. Kylie and Tyga are millennials that are extremely famous, however they are eight years apart. The two may seem like two totally different stories, but they are very much alike as someone will come to find. Romeo and Juliet’s relationship is alike to Kylie and Tyga’s because they both have an age gap, they both get criticized for no reason, but the two are different due to the fact that Romeo and Juliet killed themselves. Kylie and Tyga’s age gap is very alike to Romeo and Juliet’s, making them similar. Readers of Romeo and Juliet know that Romeo was much older than Juliet. Shakespeare did not tell the reader how old Romeo was, but the reader knows that he was older. “She hath not seen the change of fourteen years” (1.2.9). Shakespeare uses an analogy to emphasize that the reason that they cannot be together due to their families does not make sense. Shakespeare uses the word “sweet” to accentuate how sweet and happy their love would be. However, in Kylie and Tyga’s case, they are getting told that Tyga is too old for her. “...how he doesn’t get why many people continue to bash him for pursuing their romance.” (Fogarty). The author uses the words “their romance” to show how both Kylie and Tyga love each other incredibly and how they have romance with each other. Comparable to Romeo and Juliet, they do not understand why they cannot or should not be together and they think the reasons are not valid
