Human rights. They’re given to every human regardless of race, color, sexuality, religion, language, nationality or any other status. Human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to work and education, and many more. But, what can one person do to defend them? In the past America has had people like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and many other heroes that stood up for their rights. Ever since the USA has been completely different. Personally, i believe we need more people like Rosa Parks and MLK. We can defend all human rights by applying them to our own domestic law, standing up for what we truly believe in. We all know Martin Luther King, as the guy who fought for equality for black people. He gave his life for justice and freedom, and his organizations were always nonviolent. Without him, we would probably still be using black people as slaves and treating them poorly, which is violating a human right. Freedom of Slavery and torture. Rosa Parks refused to give up a seat on a bus to a white person. Why? Because she believed she deserved to be treated equally. Freedom of Speech is a human right as well. Just like Rosa Parks did. She stood up for herself when she was almost forced to give up her seat for a white male. She was arrested then. One person with their believes can change everything. Today in society, it almost seems as if people like to violate these human rights. It just takes one person to have a voice. But, of course there will always be haters who do not agree with your believes and will try and stand against it.
