In America, most students go though the public school system for eighteen years of their life. I am no exception. At this point, I have spent the majority of my life waking up at six in the morning and coming home at two in the afternoon. All this time in school has lead me to wonder about how school works in places other then America, so I researched how school functions in Italy. To help me I talked with Professor Stefano Morello, a current professor at Queens College who has been through both the Italian and American school system.
The Italian and American School Systems People can become very single minded. They learn one way and assume that is how everyone does it. But the world is so much bigger than that. People have learned different ways of accomplishing a similar goal. Take education for example, America is praised for its education, yet the rest of the world also has its ways of educating youth.
The American University system and the Italian one are two completely different academic organizations. Indeed, there are some aspects which make the Italian system different from the American one. The tuition cost, for example, is one of these, followed by the attendance policy, class structure, and the kind of education that a student gets (assimilates or you get). The cost is an important factor in the differences between the two.

For my paper, I decided to discuss a few issues pertaining to government regulations on the curriculums in public schools. This is known to be a very controversial topic for everyone. Therefore, steps need to be taken to ensure that the youth are receiving the best education that can be provided to them, thus aiding them is achieving those high living standards and better preparing the next generation. There are many issues that can be found concerning not only the way that some schools are conducted but the education system as a whole as well.
The curriculum of school education is out of citizens hands. What if you did not have a choice what your child was going to learn, would you send your kid to school? “Preparing American students for success.” Is the motto that the new common core state standard initiative is developing into our school system, which seems very controversial with parents and teachers, disputed countries, causing different opinions from other states, and unnecessary due to the fact that it is worth an abundance of what we do not have, money.
This new system was opened to children of both sexes in all the Italian Kingdom’s communities, Although, this new law was put in place enforcement was at subpar levels. The new educational system was comprised of a primary school that was to be attended by all children under the age of 10, then the educational system split into two branches. The two branches consisted of the first branch, known as, “classical,” which was five years of junior high school, followed by three years of high school which promoted and prepared students for the university coursework. Introduction of these educational changes like school reform, teaching and teacher professionalism is possible through new curricula. In order to design , develop and disseminate this new curriculum we need a specialized development team but we must be aware that during the era of education reform, effective utilization of this new curriculum lies in the hands of regular teachers. By the actions that the educational system take, when it introduces this new curriculum, it can cause serious resistance to the changes. Resistance to educational change can be defined as students ' and teachers ' affective, cognitive and behavioral specific responses or acts of opposing or struggling with modifications because there is a vested interest in maintaining the status quo(Bemmels and Reshef, 1991; Van den Heuvel, 2009). Teachers resist change when it is introduced to them poorly, when it affects how they do their work, and when they don 't see the need for the changes.
