Definition and Purposes of Inquiry Inquiry defined by Merriam-Webster diction is “the examination into facts or principles.” When you use inquiry, you use it in the sense to look more in depth about something, you see the situation or topic from every different angle or perspective which than allows you to see deeper into the true meaning of the topic. One very interesting personal connection I have with this process already was from my UWRT 1104 class. We were all told to choose a topic at the beginning of the year, my topic was should religion be taught in public schooling. Personally, I enjoy buying/reselling products and turning a profit. For the past five years, I have been buying and selling different designer products like Louis Vuitton bags, Yeezy’s, and Bape clothing. I have made a huge profit in that business and I realized how big of a demand there really is for that and brought the products to the consumers. My dream job after college is to open a storefront or start a franchise called Patty’s that would do the same thing, selling different designer clothing that are a hype. Lots of information can be put on the internet. While doing research, I came across a website called Spartan Guides, in the source section of the website it talks about “how important it is to make sure you have reliable sources (2015, October 27).” To use the process, you must be able to understand every perspective in the situation. To do that you must use information that you find to relate it to your inquiry idea. Having that chance of allow bias or wrong information can risk how your book gets viewed, either positively or negatively.
