Why are we humans what could be defined as “hateful”? Why are we so mean to others, and what do we ever get out of it? We get what is classified as bullying. We get a word that is commonly heard and addressed, but in order to do anything about it, everyone has to do something. Physical bullying does not have to be consistent or constant to hurt.

Did you know, that ⅔ of bullies have been bullied themselves? Or that most of the times, they bully others because their friends do or pressure them to? Meaning that only a third of the time the cruelty is intentional. Only a third. A fourth of students in the U.S.A. have been bullied on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, 77% of those bullied have been bullied mostly verbally, also known as verbal or mental abuse. The most common people targeted for this: those perceived unable to defend themselves, people unable to afford what is considered cool, and the LGBT youth. As for people most likely to bully: aggressive or easily angered people, people who think badly of others, or people who often do not follow rules (generally as defiance.) …show more content…

And it’s not just peers who bully, it’s adults too. One of the things that I personally find saddest about all of this is the belief of adults that, “it’s part of growing up, there’s nothing we can do” and peers’ belief that “it’s okay because everyone does it.” That’s the problem.
