As a 15 year old, I know that us teenagers are more reckless, so the driving age should not be lowered. First of all, 13 and 14 year olds are not mature enough to handle the responsibility of driving. Would parents really feel good about their kid driving out be themselves? No, the parents would be stressing out all the time, afraid that their child could be in an accident.
The driving age shouldn’t be changed to 21 because it’s unfair and inconvenient . The driving age you should be allowed to drive at is 16 since that is this age right now that we can start driving . It’s not fair to the kids that are learning how to drive right now. My 18 year old cousin would get his driver's license taken because he is not 21 and wouldn’t be able to drive since he would be considerd under age driving. Some kids are learning how to drive right now because they are old enough since the age right know to be able to drive is 16.
The driving age should not be raised because some 18-year-olds are worse drivers than 16-year-olds. Recently, crashes for 16-year-olds have been decreasing, while crashes for 18-year-olds are increasing. Why? People are waiting until 18 to get a license so they can skip Driver’s Ed. Although the 18-year-olds still have to take a written test, they are less experienced when they get their licenses.
Although, I do see where some teens are immature at 16 and aren’t ready for their driver's license. It would be frightening to see them on the road by themselves making their own decisions. If the driving age was raised it might would cut out on the accidents and time police officers have to work. Some will benefit from the age being raised and others it will just be
“But evidence is mounting that a 16-year-old’s brain is generally far less developed than those of teens just a little older. ”(Robert Davis, 248) One reason why 16 year olds shouldn't be able to drive is because they are too careless to even consider the fact that they are risking their lives, the brain doesn't really mature till age 25. Teens also don't need to be just aware of themselves, but also aware of their surroundings. Due to this many states are raising the age by imposing restrictions on 16 year old
Nearly one in five 16 year old drivers are involved in an accident within the first year of driving, for me, this is scary. As a teenager myself I don’t think most teens are ready to drive at 16. An average 10 teenages are killed in a car accident everyday. These adolescents are only 16 to 18 years old, their lives are only just beginning. I think the minimum driving age should be 18 because teens are not ready for the responsibility, teens have too much on their minds to be driving, and teenagers are just too tired to be driving.
Do you like getting that call or a knock on the door from the ambulance telling you that your child had just been in a wreck because of drunk driving? The consideration of changing the legal driving age from 18 to 21 is not a good idea. If the legal driving is to be changed for teenagers they would be deprived of all opportunities to have experience; which make the teens way more dangerous. The legal teenage driving age is currently 18, and is currently being reconsidered to change the legal driving age to 21. The legal driving age should not be changed to 21 because that is the legal drinking age which means they would bring more drinking and driving opportunity’s to the teenagers.
Teens lives are very hectic and require lots of traveling back and forth from places. After years of having to take their kids back and forth from place to place parents are tired of it. Having the driving age at 16 allows teens to travel as they need to without interrupting the lives of others, like their parents. The driving age makes everyone's lives easier and its convenient. Raising the driving age would make many peoples lives hectic and would cause chaos among many peoples schedules.
In addition, the main reason that many people are against driving at 16 is because 16-17 year olds are the age group with the most accidents. However, what they don't know, is that the reason behind these accidents is inexperience. If the driving age were indeed raised, there would be just as many accidents. This is because 18 year olds would be inexperienced as well. The earlier teens learn to drive, the more time they have to gain
I think the driving age should stay at the age of 16 because as you get older you have more experience driving. Every thing goes best when you start young because of all the practice you've had over the years. starting at 16 can can lead some teens to good cares like: NAS car, or driving for movies. I think the age of 16 is a good place to start, because its like they say know more about the job before the interview, so that way you have a better chance of getting the job. Safety still is a problem because 16 year olds are reckless as well so its a bigger chance that more people could be in danger young teens that are behind the wheel going fast and doing what ever else they do when there alone trying to be cool for who ever.
Driving at 16 allows parents to oversee young drivers before they are legally independent adults. Lawmakers may think by raising the minimum driving age that they can minimize accidents, but in actuality, they are depriving teens the chance to learn under adult supervision. If the driving age were raised to 18, kids would be out on their own and learning to drive on their own. At 16, teens are still covered by their parents ' insurance driving closer to home, which offers more support should they get in an accident. Before teens leave home, parents can be sure they have a solid driving history that they can be comfortable with while gaining valuable experience.
After all, it will only add to the total loss of life from the various errors performed by sixteen-year-old kids. It is unseemingly to keep something that has time and time proved itself to be appalling. It is for this reason that eighteen should be the age at which adolescents are given cars. The legal driving age should be raised to eighteen because it will keep the streets safer, drivers will be more mature, and it is foolish to oppose this indubitable truth.
As I think raising the driving age to 18 is a benefit with less harm.while not raising it will harm lives.therefore,it should be discussed. Futhermore, traffic accidents is affecting the lives of the future generation. I think raising the driving age to 18 plays a part in preventing massive car crashes. As its being found that the underage drivers are more likely to go into car accidents than adults ' 'Those who favor raising the driving age say that statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults ' '.(Palicz).I assume if we raise driving age to 18 such incidents will decrease. I also believe adults are more prepared for driving than underage
A parent or adult cannot deny that getting their real driver license for the first time is exciting! As a teen you certainly spend most of the time driving with your friends hanging out, and doing anything that comes to your mind. But honestly what are teens doing before they get their official license and progress forward in life. Are they getting around without any accidents happening(or sadly even deaths)! Are most teens safely driving before they get their driver’s license and are they prepared for what’s on the roads?
The driving age should stay the same because its preemptive strike to driver fatalities and its protection of basic individual driving experience. For starters, keeping the driver age the same takes a preemptive strike against driver fatalities. The people who want to change driving laws only see this option as a way to reduce car crash rates. They actually do, for 16 year olds. In Source 2 it states “... since the first
