Many people do not believe driving under the influence affects other people. On top of that, those who do know it affects other people still do it because they don’t realize when they are under the influence that it is going to affect the people around them. Driving under the influence affects not only the others in the car but all of the people in the cars around you and their relatives. Some people believe that alcohol does not affect their driving. They are wrong.
Alcohol can reach various parts of your body in just 20-40 minutes. After it has reached your brain, it can affect your whole body. It has been proven that alcohol affects the parts of your brain that control your motor skills and judgement. Reality struck me when, in lesson 03 of unit

The reality is that, “Whether you drink all of the time or never drink, you should know that somewhere down the road you will meet a driver who has been drinking.” This is a scary idea that we will all drive alongside of someone who has been drinking on the road at some point. By drinking, you are six times more likely to be crash than a sober person on the road. Out of all the people killed nationally, nearly half of them have to do with drinking. You are permitted to have .08 grams of alcohol in your system while driving. That means you can have either three glasses of wine, three mixed drinks, or three cans of beer in one hour. If you then continue to consume another drink per hour, you will remain with more than .08 grams of concentrated alcohol in your bloodstream which means you are still legally intoxicated. Also, not only should you not have alcohol while driving or before driving, you should not use drugs or drugs and alcohol at the same time. Alcohol can have unpredictable effects on the drugs.
