DSW has a clear value statement, their values are passion, accountability, collaboration, and humility. (DSW, Inc. 2016) DSW Inc.’s mission is to excite their customers by offering competitive, compelling assortment of shoes and loyalty reward gifts such as complimentary accessories. (DSW Inc. 10-K Filing, 2016) Their vision is to be the number one place Americans go to buy shoes. (About DSW Inc., 2016) All these statements relate to one another. They hope to use their values to accomplish their mission and vision. Their value statement tells me that they love what they do, they will take responsibility for their actions, they want to work as a team, and they are happy to make people happy. I

Inc.’s organization Shoe Lovers Care is always giving back to society. They have volunteered over 10,000 hours to nonprofit organizations. (Shoe lovers care, 2016) DSW Inc. has a long-term partnership with the United Way to continue to provide support to communities and nonprofits currently and in the future. (Shoe lovers care, 2016) Shoe Lovers Care will be directly impacted if any economic or political change were to happen that would reduce the amount they could donate. An example would be tax increase or recession.

DSW Inc. is current with technology, they have a website that is mobile friendly, their Point of Sales cash registers are touch screen computers, and their shoe lover’s associates are equipped with tablets to assist any customer in find and buying shoes. As technology continues to advance this will allow DSW to be available anywhere and maybe offer digital assistance in finding the perfect pair of shoes. Technological advances could potential effect DSW’s competitive advance, if one of their competitor’s makes an advancement
