Educational Philosophy Statement

From as far back as I can remember, education has been one of the most important aspects of my life. I have always been passionate about my education; graduating in the top 20% of both my high school and undergraduate classes. I soon realized that, in addition to my love of learning, I also had a passion for helping others to learn. I began tutoring family members as well as children who lived in my neighborhood. After seeing the improvement that resulted from my dedication to those children, I had no doubt about which career to pursue. For several years now, my commitment has been to my students. While embracing the many changes of our ever-evolving educational system, my focus has been on teaching efficiently and ensuring that my students are learning. As the teacher in my classroom, it is important that my focus remains on my students and their learning. With the intention of producing students who are better learners, I have spent several long hours and days working on becoming a better classroom teacher. Educational leaders and the classroom teachers require dedication to their craft to meet the needs of their classes and the needs of students as learners individually. Absolutely nothing nourishes my soul more than nurturing and molding the brains of the young children I have had the opportunity to educate. Both students and teachers within a school system need leaders who are passionate about education and the common goals their school is working to meet. Without a leader who believes in them and what they are doing too many of our teachers and students suffer.
