Navigating the route from high school to post-secondary education is no easy feat but participating in programs similar to EduExplora helped me find my way. Thus, knowing how difficult it can be, I want to work for EduExplora to help students discover their passions, build their intellectual curiosity, and provide advice from the knowledge I have gained from my own experiences (ex. choosing a university and career, admissions process, being an international student, etc), while also ensuring that they have fun during the program. Ambassador for the National Student Network (NSN): NSN is an online platform aimed to empower youth through mentorship, opportunities, and articles. In this role, I promoted our mission and programs to youth in Vancouver to encourage them to get involved in the community and shared advice about transitioning from high school to university.

Residence advisor at the University of British Columbia (UBC): In this role, my goal was to help my residents succeed academically, find personal growth, and have the best possible experience living on campus. I was in charge of supervising ~100 residents on my own and 2 buildings with a team of 7 advisors. I fostered an inclusive community and positivity in a residential setting by planning engaging events, facilitating check-ins each term, and ensuring that everyone felt at home. By enforcing residence guidelines (ex. being quiet during “quiet hours) and quickly resolving conflicts in a professional manner, my job was to make sure that everyone felt comfortable and safe. Associate vice president administration at the Science Undergraduate Society: As the associate vice president administration, I helped lead the Sustainability, Building, Administrative Assistant, and Club Committees. Here, I learned the importance of establishing clear goals from the start to prevent future challenges and boost productivity, as well as how to adapt to working with different groups of individuals.
