Emotional intelligence can also be used to better serve employees. Managers with high emotional intelligence can not only better manage themselves but also their subordinates. Successful managers are able to use their abilities to bring out the best in employees and create a cultural environment that capitalizes on a diverse workforce. When a manager is aware of the personality type diversity in his or her organization, methods can be developed to best serve the workforce. Through awareness of employee characteristics, talents can be utilized and improvements can be made accordingly.

The interpersonal relationships and the resulting effective communication can be taken advantage of through evaluations and counseling sessions (Sangeeta, 2014). These meetings with employees can create a two-way street in which employees can voice any concerns or expectations they may have while the manager can communicate organizational goals and areas for potential improvement. This sort of communication is made possible by the manager’s comprehension of the employee’s personality and their emotional nature (Sangeeta, 2014). The manager understands the employee’s personality and, therefore, their motivations and strengths as a worker. The characteristics of each personality type can be used to highlight areas in which improvement is needed as well as areas in which the employee performs well (Sangeeta, 2014).
