Why are US citizens rapidly becoming more obese? Approximately 70 percent of US citizens are considered obese or either overweight, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These kinds of health conditions are known to decrease quality of life and are also the prime reason of health care cost in the United states. Although the overall rates of obesity have rose they have also declined among groups, obesity is still a high risk problem and it still continues to be the leading public health problem here in the United States. In addition, obesity is a serious problem and is a increasing problem among children, teen’s, and adults. Also there are different problems through obesity that are based on demographics such as race, ethnicity, and gender. More than one third of the adults in the U.S. are considered obese.
