Why is America so Obese?
People in America have been known to be obese for so long it’s become a stereotype. America consumes the most food in the world, and is considered to be the most obese, unhealthy country in the world. Studies show that 35.7 percent of all United States adults are obese. This is understandable since America has so many fast food restaurants, raises animals to get fat and feed many as possible and produces the 3rd most amount of food in the world. (Mayo Clinic) Americans eat much more than they really need for energy. Compared to other countries we consume an enormous amount. The most obvious one is your overall health. Your overall health will be good and there will be a low chance to catch any health problems obesity causes. Secondly, you will have more stamina to run, walk, and be active. Thirdly you will get to live longer, you can spend more time with your family and enjoy life. The last benefit I will list is your looks. If you’re healthier you will look better, which will make you feel better. Being obese is a very preventable health problem that affects many Americans today. It is possible for obesity not to even exist at all. As soon as a person sees their self gaining an unhealthy amount of weight they could diet and exercise to maintain a healthy weight and prevent the diseases that comes along with obesity. If you don’t consume unhealthy foods and overeat then you should not worry about becoming obese and having this medical problem.
I have talked about many facts and statistics of obesity in America and why it is unhealthy. I have also talked about and listed many causes why America has become so obese and stayed this way. Obesity is a preventable disease that affects millions of Americans. If we didn’t eat so unhealthy and exercised more we could prevent this problem and our nation would be a lot
