Nowadays, leadership is one of the main¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬ qualities that different enterprises look for in a person before hiring them. As a matter of fact, leadership has become so important that most colleges have recurred to teaching leadership courses in every area of study. So it’s no longer reserved to a fancy group of people who major in politics or business which were considered to be the only careers where leadership was required. Today anyone could be a good leader, and everyone should know how.

It is convenient however, to ask ourselves how right or wrong the popular beliefs could be. Is it possible for a person with no training could become a successful leader? Or is it something that can only be achieved by a few born and taught to be leaders? The common definition of leadership suggests that in fact anyone can be a leader; as most people describe it as the act of guiding a group of people in order to achieve a common goal. But the fact that anyone could do it doesn’t mean that anyone can do it right. Being a good leader means being able to be a leader at any given time for as long as it necessary. In a way, it’s a lot like working in the creative field, sure anyone can be creative sometimes but to apply creative thinking into your everyday work, it’s not that easy. That is why, when wondering if we are leaders or not, we should also ask ourselves, am I a leader or am I a person who is capable of leading?

If the answer is the latter, you may be like me. A person who is good a leading but doesn’t consider themselves a leader. An almost leader as you would say. As bad as it may sound, being an almost leader is better that not being able to lead at all. Sure it can be more frustrating, but it means we are halfway
