Have you ever been used through your lifetime? I am sure many can relate and agree that that it is by far one of the worst feelings in the world. Putting in countless hours, days, weeks, and years, of physical and mental work, but not having necessary compensation. You get a sense of feeling of not being rewarded or appreciated for what you do. This specific feeling is common in college athletes. It is a feeling you get when you go to pay for dinner and you realize you have no money. The simple solution would be to find a job, but with practice, class, weights, meetings and study table hours you have no time. This is a really overlooked nightmare that college athletes have dealt with for decades. And it really doesn’t make sense as too why they have had to continue with this for so long. College athletes should in fact be compensated monetarily for the work they put in besides in the classroom. Many athletes understand that making it to the big leagues is obtainable though hard work and dedication, but like most things, are extremely difficult. The reality is these student-athletes will soon be employees of a new type of world. The working world. One they have just possibly never been a part of before. Thrown in the fire to be said. Therefore handling and balancing money. If student-athletes were to just take out loans, they wouldn’t actually understand the value of money, interest or anything. If the NCAA decided to pay the athletes they could understand what a check means. How much they have, how to spend it in ways that are beneficial and what to save. Taking out loans does not produce that type of learning. Therefore, allowing them to get paid like a regular job would teach these young teens and adults how to handle money for not only the present but the
