NU 309 Evidence-Based Practice Week 9 Discussion Forum -Developing Oneself as an Innovator
The goals that are of great interest and focus to establish in my clinical area are leadership through “unit education” (mandatory 15 min in-services) on new research, and an agent for change at the unit level continually providing new ideas as an innovator. According to Schmidt and Brown 2016, information seeking and processing are the foundational in being open and positive to change (Schmidt and Brown 2016).
Professionalism development plan is a confidential document you create that guides and records the activities you undertake to meet the Board of nursing standards of practice, nursing scope of practice, accomplishments as well as your employer’s expectations. Professionalism development plans/goals are important because they deliver benefits to the individual, their profession and the public based on the skill, competence, or character expected of a member of a highly trained profession. My outline a plan to develop you professionalism as a nurse;
I. Complete my BSN in nursing or fast track to MSN degrees.

Awareness of oneself, and the unit and organization as a professional is pivotal. While these are essential characteristics, nurses must go even farther when striving for professionalism.
