How gaming has changed over time and became a economice powerhouse.
What's the most used gaming console of all time? The most used console of all time is the PlayStation 2 and gaming has evolved a lot senese the beginning when there were no home gaming consoles and now pretty much every console is at home, also gaming almost going out of business in the mid to late 1900s now to being a multi billion dollar industry. The most used video gaming console and games of all time is a very close race between many consoles, also how gaming has evolved, and how much companies make off of gaming.
Even though the Sony PlayStation 2 was the most popular console of all time, people still bought other consoles

According to Michael Maleys book about gaming and consoles named Video Games and Esports: The Growing World of Gamers it states ““ Sales were immense and eventually settled around $100 million, ahead of both of its main competitors the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360” ( Maley 28) This shows companies can continuously sell products and people will still buy them. Explained by the author Michael Maley he states that “by the end of that year the industry had taken in 134.9 billion dollars' '. this shows how much money gaming has made and doesn't look to be slowing down. Maley also states in his book that “ “ The continued economic success of the gaming industry was followed in the early 2000s by the sixth generation, which ushered in other blockbusters, including such action titles as Gears of War and Grand Theft Auto; sports- racing oriented games including Madden NFL and Gran Turismo;” ( Maley 27) This shows a lot of new types of games were created sense the gaming industry was doing so good and led to companies adding more title. Maley gives a good point in his book Video games and esports: The Growing World of Gamers ``The Production of video games has become a billion dollar business and is rapidly growing.” ( Malley 34) This shows that the companies are spending a ton of money to make the game but gaming is growing anyways. In the book video Games and Esports: The Growing World of Gamers Maley states “For example the PlayStation 3 was introduced in 2008 for $599” ( Maley 38) this shows that companies are charging a lot of money for these consoles and people are buying them so they are making a ton of money overall. Maley also states “ For example Nintendo sold more than 2 million Wii consoles” (Maley 36) This shows people are willing to buy consoles and will spend money
