Should art classes be compulsory in school
The importance of art in schools
Don’t take our word for it - see why 10 million students trust us with their essay needs.
If a student wants to take an AP class, let them take it. AP classes prepare students for college and allows a classroom to be excused from interruptions, because all of the students have the same purpose for taking the AP class. Fremont High School should not punish those who seek a successful future. These “service classes” can be seen as punishments for those who wish to go to college and create careers. Not every student wants to be a hair dresser, not every student wants to be a sewer (720).
Why should students be required to take an arts class? Arts is where students can show their artistic abilities or their musical talents to everyone else. Students should be required to take an arts class because those classes can open up more career opportunities, the students in the class work together in groups, and the student can show their ability to do different things that maybe someone else can’t do. The first reason as of why the class should be required is the class could open up more career opportunities in the future.
In college departments are required to have a certain amount of students enrolled in one of the departments courses. If a academic department in the school cannot reach a certain amount of students over a certain time the department will have to close. Arts and humanities classes are on the decline due to the number of job opportunities available. However, arts and humanities courses are important to help develop an understanding for literature and art. Many college students are not a fan of taking arts and humanities courses because the courses do not correspond with their major.
Forcing students to take a class of the arts, rather than allowing them to choose which classes they would agree on taking should not be authorized. I believe students should not be required to take a class in the arts. Classes in the arts should predominantly be considered as an elective because there would be lack of interest, most students would adjudge it being a waste of time, and it would cause unnecessary stress among most students. Students whom would have to sit through a class of arts, not being able to have a say on rather they want to take it or not would make the class less interesting. Majority of the students who don't have a talent or interest of arts, wouldn't consider taking the class.
Very rarely do many students not miss out on benefits of art classes. I know it may not be their fault but they should try to find a way to do this. I think everyone has forgotten.6l\k that arts can help push you farther into life and innovation into the school. 95 percentage of students have had budget cuts in 2008. But nationwide it is 80% of budget cuts that
A fine arts education class needs to be required every year of a student’s education. As of now, at East High School and many other schools across the nation, hardly any fine arts classes are required to graduate. The requirement currently at East High is to have completed two credits of fine arts. A student can receive these credits done within their first year in high school and never take a fine arts class again. These classes are incredibly important to students
Before I explain my second reason, I need to explain that I have taken an art class before at Los Angeles Valley Community College. The course consisted of art about the Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians. Even though I did pretty well in the course and got an A, it required a lot of memorization, which I consider myself poor at doing. So putting aside that I am terrible at memorizing, I am somewhat interested in art. I’ve always wanted to be a good drawer
There is a lot of discussion about whether or not art and music classes take a stand in bettering your education. The people who agree with this idea, such as those who are involved in the committee for PCAH, claim that keeping these art and music classes in high school will keep the high school dropout rates at a low range of 15-10%. They also argue that using these classes will help better their communication and their social skills. However, there are also strong arguments against this. For example, teachers, parents, and even some people who are in the government believe that these classes won't help these kids in the long run.
Ch. 1 Questions: 1. The difference between an opinion and a fact is that an opinion is one’s belief of a subject, whereas a fact is true and can be proven. An opinion is like one’s attitude of a subject and how he or she feels about it. Facts provide arguments to maintain a good essay.
Each and everyone has a talent, like being able to learn something on the first try or being naturally good at a sport. For me, my talent would have to be something with drawing. I did not discover my talent until middle school because I had to take an elective class; it was about drawing. When the teacher assigned me to draw something using a specific style; at the end when we had to turn it in everyone would say “How did you do that.” I would always answer with an “I don't know.”
Why Have Arts in Schools? President Barack Obama once said, “The future belongs to young people with an education and the imagination to create.” In schools, one of the most overlooked and underfunded subjects are the arts. During the 1930s, art education was greatly supported in the U.S. However, as time progressed the focus of education shifted to more standardized tests, science, and math.
It is important to study something in school that you enjoy but that is also useful in the real world. I have always been asked, “what's your major?”. I would answer art history and always got a response like, “what are you going to do with that?”. Most parents and students don’t feel that there is a good foundation from learning Art History. It is often heard from high school and college students (influenced by their parents) that to succeed you must major in science, technology, engineering, or business.
An illustrator is a creator of art that helps a person visualise what you are reading. Illustrators create the drawings in the books you read. Imagine not having illustrations in books. Without illustrations do you think that you could picture what was happening? I know that I could not visualise what was happening if there was not illustrations.
1.2 Statement of Significance Art can do lots of things that can create powerful and great changes in ourselves. Artist is someone that is so hard to read if we fail to understand them to interpret the underlying meaning behind their painting because it is their getaway to express their emotions and desires to the community. To accomplish this, the artists are communicating with the society by delivering their messages through their artworks.
“Arts education is critical for helping students develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities” (Chernin). The arts can help people succeed. Art is a way that people can express themselves and share their beliefs. Arts in education can help people focus and attend. Fine arts are important because they make a huge impact on kids education, they make an impact on how people pursue their life careers, and it also helps with stress and anxiety.
