I, personally, believe that junk food should be ban in Canada. Fast food, also called as junk food, has become an increasingly popular food choice to grab when on the go. People around the world reach out to junk food because of its accessibility and its cheap value. Due to the delicious, fast produced meals individuals globally are slowly getting addicted to it. However, the custom of eating junk food in many is increasing day by day and enhancing the worst in our society, ourselves and the animals. Junk food should be banned because animal cruelty has increased due to the high demands of fast food places, our health is being affected and eating unhealthy food leads to depression/anxiety.

Since fast food chains are growing and expanding all throughout Canada, more and more individuals are purchasing those junk food because it is somehow addicting and its cheap. However, junk food is the main reason why obesity exists. According to Global News (Canada), "the 2017 Obesity Update by the OECD placed Canada among its most overweight countries, with 25.8 percent of the population aged 15 and over considered obese". This statics is recent, meaning these numbers will escalate over time quickly. Junk food is affecting our health system, which can cause various problems for our future. For instance, junk food can cause diabetes, obesity, cancer and much more. It is all linked because of the high number of calories there is in a fast food meal, chips and more. An example of a meal that has high calories is the Big Mac meal from Mcdonalds that has about 540 calories or the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese which has 740 calories.
