Argumentative Essay Kids should not have screens Kids shouldn't have access to any screens like phones, iPads, tvs, or any other devices. These devices expose kids to new things they don't know or shouldn't know. This can also affect the brain growth of kids and their emotions as well. More than two hours a day of screen time can cause kids to be aggressive and have other behavioral issues. Studies show that excessive screen time can affect a kid's way of thinking and learning. They take away the child's capacity to discover and experience normal everyday activities. Screens could also expose kids to new things they don't know or that could be inappropriate for them. At night time some kids are on their phones or ipads watching YouTube or playing a game, instead of sleeping. Studies show that kids that stare at their devices before bed cause sleep problems. Devices stop the flow of melatonin and will make it harder to fall asleep, because melatonin is a hormone that puts your body to sleep. The bright lights on devices make you stay awake, because mealtion only flows when it's dark, indicating its night time. There are positives though, as some devices like computers, can help with hand-eye coordination and visual intelligence. Some people struggle making friends and use screens instead of talking to people. This can impair social skills. Phones and computers can help kids develop problem-solving, social skills, and creativity. There are ways to use screens for good purposes. If parents want to monitor their kids, they can use parental controls. Installing parental controls can prevent exposure to new or inappropriate things that kids aren't ready for.
