Abstract
On the evening of 26th November, 2001, a dead body of a sixteen year girl was found by a local dog-walker in hingley woods in otley, west Yorkshire. The girl was later recognized as Leanne tiernan, who lived ten miles away from that place in Landseer mount, Leeds. Her head was covered with a black plastic bag and a dog collar around her neck. A scarf and a cable tie were also there and her wrists were holding together through that cable tie. Police searched everywhere all around the area and found similar dog collars purchased by a person called John Taylor from a supplier of dog collars. Talking about his personal life, he was poacher and used to keep many animals at his home. He was a hunter of fox, rabbit and other animals and enjoyed killing them. He was been divorced in 1985 and had a son and a daughter. She kidnapped Leanne when she was coming back to home from the houghley woods path. He took her to his home, raped her and killed her.
The strongest evidence against Taylor was the presence of blood of Leanne under floor board and the presence of hair in the knot of Leanne’s scarf which turned out to be of Taylor. Taylor claimed that he had raped her but didn’t kill her. If it was true then the body could not have been remain in its original state and was finished due to decomposition because nine month is not a short period. But the decomposition rate didn’t match with the burial in the ground. All the evidence goes against him i-e the presence of identical dog collar at his house, cable knit was the same that his company supplied, fibers found on Leann’s scarf was same as that of fiber found in Taylor’s house, presence of blood and the DNA of dog was been matched with the hairs DNA taken from her scarf.
