A Comparison Between Feudalism and High School During high school many students feel like they are part of a social system like feudalism. Feudalism was a form of social organization that started in the Middle Ages to put order in societies social classes. Feudalism put order to Western Europe and allowed everyone to have a place among the feudal power. In high school everyone is ranked from highest power to, little power, then no power at all. Both high school and feudalism are like in some ways, but are different in the way high school is ranked socially, the way high school battles, and the way high schools punish. The superintendent is chosen by a board of school members to represent and direct a school district. The superintendent gives the principal and teachers orders and is responsible for their actions and choices. Kings are next on the social order scale. The King gives land to the lords. The lords, nobles, and knights swore an oath of loyalty to protect the king, and his land at all cost. The Principal is like the king, he or she promises to set out the superintendent’s rules and respect his or her choices. Principals follow the orders given by the Superintendent. Lords are sworn loyalty to the king. They are given a portion of land to protect and they do what the king wants them to do with there land. Teachers are the lords of high school. They are given a classroom to teach students by the way the principal and superintendent want them to teach. They do what the king wants them to do. Knights are below the lords. Knights are armored warriors that protect their lord’s land. They often receive land of their own for service to the lords. Seniors, juniors, and sophomores are like the knights because they are given parking spots
