I clearly recall how got admitted to the Undergraduate program at Florida Atlantic University, It was in the summer term of 2012 when I was directly admitted to the undergraduate program where I did my Bachelors of Business Administration with a Major in Finance. I have to add that I am the first one in my family to get direct admission to a major university because some of my family members went to college first before going to a university. During the revolution in Nicaragua from 1979 through 1990 the government took away everything that my family had worked for and ultimately made them flee the country which made it difficult for my family to sustain a good economic standing, we went through difficult times with my family but that didn't limit my desire to overcome my situation at the time. I always had it on my mind that I wanted to have a degree, I spoke with my father and told him how important having an education would be for me. This is when my father with much sacrifice decided to help me with the initial expenses for the first semester of my Undergraduate program at Florida Atlantic University at the Boca Raton campus. I was very happy with his help, it was all that I wanted to do ever since I was a young man. Going to school gave a purpose to my life, I was finally starting my journey. My father stated that after his help everything thereafter would be my responsibility. That is when I had to figure out how I was going to come up with the money to be able to pay for my food, gas, books, and studies.
