Food today varies in multiple ways. We can choose from the seasonings, to the style in which the meal is prepared. We have a vast variety of food and drinks to choose from depending on what we crave. How did this contrast during the Elizabethan era? As some would argue it is completely different because of the time periods, it does not contrast in much prospect.
The Renaissance allowed for some bearings on politics and commerce which opened a door for merchants and the middle class. Renaissance merchants improved their banking techniques and became more open to seek profits. The middle class or city-state leaders were able to experiment with new political forms and functions. This allowed them to improve their social standing in a way that was not based on heredity and more based on what they could do or offer the society. This lead to them running cultural activities , develop more armies for wars on the practice of diplomacy, and some were introduced as ambassadors.
The peasants often gave chicken, eggs, etc. in payment to their lords. In addition to the serfs, there were also artisans and people who worked in the chapel (Document 2). All of the people within the manor were extremely important for the survival of all the social classes, and everyone depended on the hard work produced by the people who worked the land. Also, as trade and commerce began to grow, the lives of the people in the Middle Ages also changed.
Without the renaissance people today would not be as highly educated and would be less open-minded. In the Renaissance man’ s view of man changed to one that views itself as perfect, as seen in the art, literature, and scientific discoveries. If the Renaissance was to be known only for one thing it would be art.
The works of William Shakespeare are often considered timeless pieces of art. There are many factors as to why this is true, some of them being that his story lines are relatable to many generations or the way readers get fully immersed into his writing and screenplay. This immersion can be attributed to different causes. When the merchant class gained power, this sponsorship transferred to wealthy private citizens usually without the strong affiliations of the Feudal System and the Catholic Church. The renaissance was a life changing period which brought more joy to the world after conquering the dark ages. The Renaissance changed man’s view on the world by using Art, Science and Literature to make humans brighter and because of the rapid information they were gaining. Art during the Renaissance grew rapidly because of Leonardo Da Vici, and Michelangelo who changed the way people painted and drew by creating strategies which made art more interesting.
Long before the Renaissance, government was based on feudalism, the idea of dividing society based on class. People earned a set wage for their class’ jobs. Children that were born into a family were the same class as their family. Also, thinking was deeply religious and even art and sculpture all were based on religious figures. However, humanists quashed this idea.
The Renaissance is a period in Europe from the 14th to 17th century. It was considered the time between the Middle Ages and modern history. It all started as a cultural movement in Italy in the late Medieval period and later spread to the rest of Europe, which started the beginning of the Early Modern Age. There are many highly interesting periods of history but the level of artistic and architectural production during this time is amazing. So much that centuries later they continue to capture the public 's imagination.
