Something I learned about in Herbology 301 is healing. Healing is an important part of our life, which is why i wanted to write about it. Healing spells are needed in everyday life, and if we were to ask someone how many healing spells they 've used in their lifetime, the number would probably be too high to remember. I also learned that mental illnesses are not one-spell-cure-all diseases, which is very helpful to know.
Victoria The book Where the Red Fern Grows was written by Wilson, Rawls published in 1961 by Doubleday. Thirteen years later in 1974 a movie based on the book was released. Norman Tokar, the director of the film made sure that the movie had as many similarities to the book as possible while fitting in the 97 minute time range. This story is about a 12 year old boy named who lives in the Ozarks. Billy is completely satisfied with his life other than not having the one thing he has ever wanted, Red-Bone Coonhounds.
There are many symbols in A Raisin in the Sun worth describing, but one that particularly stands out is Mama’s plant. It is old and barely a substantial piece of nature, yet it makes many vital appearances in the play. The small plant seems to personify Mama’s stubborn nature in its intent on survival despite its close to death appearance. It also represents Mama’s dream that seems close to being crushed, yet never dies. As a whole, the plant is an extension of Mama’s character and an important symbol in the play.
In 1906, American writer Upton Sinclair published The Jungle which highlighted the harsh conditions Chicago’s immigrant meatpackers faced in meatpacking industries. Working undercover, Sinclair investigated how these industries exploited their workers by not providing basic sanitary conditions and regulating any safety precautions which often contaminated the meat supplies going out to the public. Per an excerpt from The Jungle, the men faced serious injuries such as sliced fingers and toxic inhalations which caused deadly diseases to upraise. Such conditions were inhumane which called for reform on the meatpacking industry from the public during the Progressive Era. Upton Sinclair was a muckraker who only wanted nothing but equality from corrupt industries.

Najmah is the main character who losses her brother and father when the Taliban took them to fight for them.

An important part of cultural life in Cedar Rapids is the Museum of Art, with 5,000 works of art under its roof. The museum houses the world 's largest collection of works by Grant Wood, Marvin Cone, and Mauricio Lasansky. They also have strong collections of early twentieth century paintings, Malvina Hoffman sculptures, and Regionalist art from the 1930s and 1940s. In 2003 Cedar Rapids also became home to the African American Historical Museum and Cultural Center of Iowa. I chose to do research on my great, great, great, grandmother who lived during the eighteen hundreds. She settled in North Fork, Arkansas. I discovered after many hours of searching for a modern and historic map that the population had dropped dramatically. The population for her time was 1,128.79 while the town’s population now is about 550 residents she settled in a rural community.
A surprising amount of species have been completely wiped out directly from human interaction in recent history. One interesting example would be the California grizzly bear that ironically is completely extinct in California. According to the California State Library website, the California grizzly bear or Ursus Californicus became the official State Animal in 1953 after being extinct for nearly 20 years and is the centerpiece on the California flag. The cool, upland air, flooding through the everlasting branches of the lively tree, as it casts a vague shadow onto the grasses ' fine green. Fresh sunlight penetrates through the branches of the tree, illuminating perfect spheres of water upon its green wands. My numb and almost transparent feet are blanketed by the sweetness of the scene, as the sunlight paints my lips red, my hair ebony, and my eyes honey-like. The noon sunlight acts as a HD camera, telling no lies, in the world in which shadows of truth are the harshest, revealing every flaw in the sight, like a toddler carrying his very first camera, taking pictures of whatever he sees. My head looks down at the sight of my cold and lifeless feet, before making its way up to the reaching arms of an infatuating tree, glowing brightly virescent at the edges of the trunk, inviting a soothing, tingling sensation to my soul.
