"The beauty of standing up for your rights is others see you standing and stand up as well."(Advice columnist Cassandra Duffy.) The LGBTQ+ folks with every community, don’t always have the say in their own rights. Everyday people are being descriminated based on their sexualirty and who they love; now is the time to stand up for LGBTQ+ rights and may everyone (no matter who they love) have equivalent laws and rights. LGBTQ+ is an acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning, and others. Homosexuals or gays/lebsians are people who are physically, mentally and sexually attracted to the same sex. US public opinion had shifted significantly over the years, from 27% approval of gay marriage in 1996 to 60% in 2015, according to Gallup.” (gallup.com) Gay marriage in the united states has always been illegal and looked down upon in america until 2015, but times are changing. The LGBT Community has always been looked down on and laughed at for wanting to marry their significant other. The new generation is a little more open minded.. In 2015 gay marriage was finally legalized in all 50 states. Gays can now get married in their home town and get the same financial benefits as any other married couple. But why is the new generation more open minded? Times are changing and traditions are coming more to an end and new ideas and new traditions and outlooks outlooks are coming to the horizon, love is love right? Whether male and female, male and male, female and female. Love is love.
