Sibling Rivalry Chances are, if you live in the United States of America, you have probably heard the name, “General Motors”. The company was founded in September 1908, and has thrived ever since its inception. General Motors, otherwise known as “GMC”, has many rivalries, but its main competitor is a company housed under the same roof. Chevrolet, or “Chevy”, is a sister company created by General Motors, crafted for the working-class. Although they bear some superficial similarities with their components, the differences in packages and pricing between GMC and Chevy trucks are pronounced. Notably, one could say the two companies offer very similar trucks based on appearance. This is true to some extent, but the main and only component difference between the two, is the stance of the trucks. GMC trucks sit at a wider, more aggressive stance, while Chevy trucks sit higher. What makes this possible for GMC, is a slight change in wheel-well size and shocks, comparative to Chevy’s general construction.
