July of 2017 I walked out of the doors of what had been my latest career move in nine and half years. This was a career move that solidified my role in the operational world of banking. 2017 was my 20th year of working in the banking industry around the United States. However, I knew then that work experience would not be enough for me to reach my goal. I needed to complete my bachelor’s degree, one that I had placed on the side of the family, work, and career. Yes, career, I began my role in banking as a teller and over to back-office, supervisor and then manager. I successfully obtained these positions with experience and an Associate’s Degree. When July 2017 is when I realized 20 years of experience and an Associate’s Degree just wasn’t enough to get where I was going. Goal Statement Where I wanted to be, how long did I want it to take and will it all matter to me in the end? These answers didn’t come easily to me, after reading several articles that determined my inner strengths and weaknesses, I arrived at my answer. I would like to quantify my success with reaching a bank officer position. This position varies and I appreciate the flexibility in this option. From Compliance Officer, Risk Officer, Director of Operations, Vice-President of Retail Banking and list can continue. The most important factor will be that I am amongst the …show more content…
