In Finland, people are not taught to strive for international success. Global possibilities for careers are not brought up in schools. Pessimism and fear to succeed stigmatize our people. I've personally tried to avoid it all with a positive, fearless, and open mindset. I want to educate myself in an ambitious and hard-working environment to get the best out of my studies in economics. That's the main reason I'm applying for this course. In upper secondary school, I chose my subjects of concentration based on what I wanted to study then. I studied further mathematics, physics, and English, for example. 15 long courses of further maths have thoroughly enhanced my logical reasoning and analytical skills. Physics, on the other hand, taught me more creative ways to approach different problems and apply all the mathematical formulas to real-life situations. Many courses filled with essential theory and practical group projects gave me an insight into the relevance of economics. I immersed myself into books, articles, and news related to economics and finance and started to build up my knowledge in those fields. The Internet has accelerated my interest in economics with TED Talks, free newspapers, and blogs, for instance. One of my dreams is to start a successful business someday.
