Everyone has hardships throughout life for different reasons. In life, tragic change that plagues many is necessary for one’s eyes to be opened in order to see the harsh reality of life.
In the book Metamorphosis a man named Gregor transforms into a giant cockroach overnight. His family faces the harsh reality of having to support themselves without Gregor who earned all the money. In life, tragedies that affect many people often shed light upon issues that would not have gone unnoticed or unsolved.

When the Boston Marathon bombing occurred, 23,000 participants entered the race and many of them left injured. Authors at The History channel put it as “ The blasts instantly turned the sun-filled afternoon into a gruesome scene of destruction and chaos.” This violent act of terrorism left countless people killed, injured, and traumatized. However, this is not the only case of terrorism. September 11th, 2001 was also a devastating day for The United States of America. Both the Boston Marathon Bombings and the 9/11 brought attention American safety standards which have been changed for the better ever since.
