Religion usually doubts scientific findings like evolution saying that couldn’t have happen that there is no mention in scripture to say humans evolved from apes. Catholics on the other hand are not forced to accept the teachings of evolution but are instead seemed to be asked to acknowledge the teachings at least. This is because of that fact that in Catholic doctrine that say religious and scientific truths are not able to contradict each other. Evolution is taught in catholic schools as a way to acknowledge the existence of scientific truth while they are also taught religious truths. The difference between religious truths and scientific truth is the fact, religious truth are taken as fact or as absolute truth while scientific truth need evidence such as experiments that are reproducible to become fact. A reason Catholics teach evolution in school is because the Vatican has said religious truths and scientific truth are not able to contradict each other. Personally, this doesn’t make a lot of sense to be because the scientific findings have proved that evolution does happen and we all share a common ancestor. Anyways, Evolution doesn’t need to be accepted by the students but merely acknowledged to understand the difference between scientific and religious truths. With them acknowledging the presence of it, this doesn’t force the students learning to accept it as fact but merely theory. Also with the teaching of evolution, it is preparing the students for job places as they will have knowledge about the subject as they will come face to face with different religions in the workplace like Buddhism, Atheism, and Hinduism. The Vatican is doing the right thing to prepare the students they teach to acknowledge the presence of other viewpoints that will be there in everyday life as more people are straying away from
