In a perfect world there would be no crime, sickness, or immiscible struggles. Sadly, we do not live in such place, we are all humans guilty of our own misconceptions. Citizens of the United States should feel great pride to live in a county that has the highest resources available for any problems that may occur. Healthcare being the number 1 resource, open to all men women and children, with highly trained professionals. Some countries, such as Nigeria, are not fortunate enough to be able to protect their citizens from deathly diseases due to lack of medical resources. The men and women effect with HIV/AIDS should be the center of the programs. Who better to demonstrate the damage this virus is capable of then infected population? Luckily, we live in a world full of options, even in this case. HIV testing services, (HTS), has shown great value in many countries. This group’s key education process is focused on the staff that will be in direct contact with infected patients. Workshops give healthcare workers the tools and resources they need to treat patients. “HTS Data Use and Strategic Planning Workshop was held to participate in a post-workshop interview or web-based survey. Staff were invited to one or the other activity based on their role in the workshops” (Courtenay-Quirk 480). As a healthcare worker myself, I believe it is very important to put patient care first. Physicians and healthcare workers can have enormous impact on the patients healing path. It’s vital the staff can effetely explain and summarize the topic at hand. Patients trust us as healthcare workers, and by putting their lives in the hands of professionals, they deserve the best care possible. Which is why I believe enforcing the strong HIV testing program is the best reform to move forward with.
