Advanced Practice Competencies There are many roles and areas of practice available to graduates with a master’s degree in nursing. Changes in healthcare resulting from the passage of the Affordable Care Act offer new and innovative roles for nurses. Among these roles are direct care practice roles as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in family care, gerontology or adult health. Indirect care roles as a Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator, or Nurse Informaticist are also options graduates of master’s program may choose. Regardless of the path chosen, there are core competencies that must be met for each, in addition to specific competencies related to the area of practice chosen.

Other qualities include being a good record keeping by writing down everything in patient’s charts, adaptable to change, quick thinkers and have good judgement by looking at the patient’s current state and accurately assessing what is or is not
Each aspect of my lesson plan incorporates a relevant educational research based strategy for health education. I use three primary strategies within my lesson plan: graphic organizers, jigsaw cooperative groups, and project based multimedia learning. Each strategy is used in different sections of the lesson plan to build up to, and support the next. The research based strategy that I used for presentation procedures for new information was graphic organizers.

Why is the focus of school health education important to help achieve academic success and improved student health outcomes? School health education is focused on implementing and producing students with accurate health information to help practice heightened health behaviors into their daily lives. According to Telljohann, Symons, Pateman, and Seabert (2016), “…today’s school health education helps students develop the functional knowledge and skills they need to adopt, practice, and maintain healthy-enhancing behaviors” (p. 57). The National Health Education Standards in 1995 helped implement this change into the importance is school health education.

The Health Field Model The Health Field Model (HFM) is the conceptual framework that is used by different health care organizations or in individual research projects to evaluate the prevalence, awareness and management of diseases in the community (Pittman, 2010). The HFM, a determinant health model is developed by Bob Evans and Greg Stoddart in 1990. The HFM provides a broad spectrum for understanding health, and the factors that interfere with, and influence the health of individuals in the community. There are features to put into consideration for, in determining the factors that affect many diseases; hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease, or influence of health on a community (Kindig & McGinnis, 2007).
But, among all the above factors, the teacher has the most important role for efficient and quality learning. Markley (2011) stated that Good and qualified teachers are essential for efficient functioning of educational systems and for enhancing the quality of learning. A good teacher and actions to be taken on his part in the classroom play a vital role in provoking effective and efficient learning on the part of the students. Parents trust their children to be taught and educated at school, to be hoped that they will become good and qualified human beings. A teacher takes an important role in motivating the students to get their success in their life.
