The profession of a medical and health service administrator is a broad job that covers many duties in a healthcare facility. Medical and health service administrators make sure facilities, such as hospitals and clinics, run smoothly, legally, and as cost effectively as possible. Medical and health service administrators are particularly involved in ensuring quality patient care. Administrators must be aware of any and all new developments of technology, in the forms of data entry, storage, and processes. They must also know about all new laws and regulations put into place. In nursing and other care facilities, administrators are required to be licensed, have specific training, and pass a state specific mandated exam. (New England College, 2017) Health service administrators have to be able to keep up with using the newest technology, and may have to attend classes and seminars to do so. The personality of a medical and health service administrator should be patient, detail oriented, dependable, and a people person. Health service administrators must able to communicate clearly and efficiently in a way that is easy to understand. I learned from my personality profile that I will fit into this position well. I have been a stay at home mother for over two years and my resume has not been updated for much longer than that.
