Betsy DeVos’ name is starting to get attention. She is, after all, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for the next United States Education Secretary. But Betsy DeVos may be getting negative attention instead of a positive one. In Florida, teachers are already planning to protest against Trump’s pick.
Betsy DeVos has no idea what she is talking about when coming to how it should really be run. We should not let someone with no education experience tell our teachers how and what to teach. Betsy DeVos has never gone to a public school, her children have never been to a public school and Betsy DeVos has never taught at a public school. You would not let an uneducated farmer perform a doctor's job, the farmer would have no idea what they are talking about. Then some people say Betsy DeVos would be a good pick due to the fact that Betsy DeVos was picked by Trump and Pence.
If trump gets elected into presidency his primary goal is to deport 11 million immigrant families that live on the U.S. Im not sure if he is talking about non US citizens or families that have expiring visas. He spoke them being forced out of their homes, jobs, and schools by the police at anytime. If he succeeds-which he won’t; there will be billions of dollars gone for his selfish request to supposedly “make America great again” but its people like him that make America what it is today . We as a nation are in debt for billion of dollars as it is , so if he is elected to be president then us as a nation are basically going in a downward spiral because we already owe trillions of dollars.
We all have complaints in life. So what it 's human nature to complain about why did Donald Trump this, why did Nikki Haley that, why did the other team when, why did they get the promotion at work. We all do it, not that complaining is a trait we should be proud of. However, those things don 't matter in 25 years Nikki Haley will not be governor of the great state of South Carolina and Trump will be 94 years old assuming he is still alive.
After nearly fifty days in the White House, President Trump has done an excellent job. On his second day in office he vowed to destroy the Islamic State, and on his ninth day he fulfilled his promise of a 5 year-ban on officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government, and a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government, which was a promise kept. (foxnews.com) My favorite quote by my President Trump is “My policy is to learn from the past, focus on the present, and dream about the future. " I think that this quote describes him perfectly as a president.
Betsy Devos is a very controversial person who has a lot of problems. Many wonders if she is a good pick for Secretary of Education because if she doesn’t understand the difference between growth and proficiency what will keep her from failing. The other side argues that she is no different then from Obama's picks. Unlike other candidates, she has a big love for kids of all ages. It is very well known that Betsy Devos is very unqualified for the job from the article called Betsy Devos still loves Common Core.
As the president of United States of America it can be a little hard to make certain decisions. What the people want and what is for the best for them is very different. Yet this President is for. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were presidents of the United States, who may have done good or bad throughout their time serving in office. Both presidents will be compared to determine who brought the best for United States.
Democrat or Republican? I am a democrat. My first reason why I support the democratic side is because I believe that the wealthy needs to pay more taxes. My second reason is that I believe in quality, affordable healthcare.
Every four years on November 8th, a presidential election is held. When a president has served two terms and can no longer serve, all new candidates run for office. As a democratic republic, this country needs a leader who will make decisions in favor of the people of their nation. Last year during the DNC (Democratic National Convention) in October, former First Lady Michelle Obama gave a speech regarding the upcoming election. The purpose of her speech was to encourage her audience, those present with her and those watching her on their televisions, to elect Hillary Clinton as President of the United States.
Women’s suffrage, a harsh topic of the time that many people leaned to the opposite side of Max Eastman. Eastman was a man who didn’t want people to only believe in why women should have rights, he wanted them to understand deeply and like them. At the time, men and women saw the pros and cons of women’s suffrage, but numerous would stick to the cons. Eastman realized that every person on this earth has different ways to go about solving problems; Max Eastman once stated “all persons should be made free in the pursuit of their own tastes or likings.” He defends women, as he can see that in the future, women will make a change in the labor, social and political world.
Bill may be someone who is very political but he did not do as well as should have in the convention in June 1992, polling below 30 percent and ruining him with the news of the love affair just put him in terrible position. All the pressure was going through Hillary after all she had her struggles with perceptions of untrustworthiness, because of the emails and other things. So Hillary had to stand up and fight through this to prove she is not giving up. Something Hillary should avoid is Al Gore’s well-scripted convention that gave a false sense of unity. In the summer convention of 2000, he was feeling pressured after he hit a low percent.
Every four years we get to see the magnificent process that our government goes through in order to pick a new president; along with an inside look at how our government operates. Not this year. People have no idea on who to vote for this year: none of the candidates seem like the right choice. However, now that the candidates have been narrowed down to the two major candidates, people need to make a choice. If I could vote, I would pick Hillary Clinton because she is the best candidate currently running for president.
For generations now, powerful and brave women in the United States have cajoled citizens, members of Congress and government officials to ratify a Constitutional amendment that states “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” In 1923, during the 75th anniversary of the 1848 Women’s Rights convention in Seneca Falls, women’s rights activist Alice Paul created the “Lucretia Mott Amendment” which would grant men and women equal rights throughout the United States. On March 22, 1972, the amendment now titled the “Equal Rights Amendment” passed the U.S Senate and House of Representatives and was to be sent to the states for approval. However, once the seven-year deadline on the ratification process came to an end in 1979, the amendment’s proponents lacked the ratification by 38 states and thus the proposed 27th amendment for equal rights was terminated. The ERA advocates continue to work together and utilize each other's resources in hope to finally pass the bill.
The Equal Rights Amendment The Equal Rights Amendment or the ERA, is a Constitutional Amendment written by Alice Paul stating, “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” The amendment was first introduced to congress in 1923 however the first interest of the idea of equality started in 1848 at the first Women’s Rights convention in Seneca Falls, NY. I support the Equal Rights Amendment. Although many women did not support the ERA they believed that if congress were to pass this amendment they would people would expect too much of them and include other individuals as well. There were however a majority of women who did support the ERA stating that it would help
