A majority of American’s people live paycheck by paycheck, which is known that we are only one or two paychecks away from becoming homeless. In 2016 according to the statistics, they are alarming around 564,708 people in the U.S are homeless. According to a recent report, over “a million people are living on the streets, in cars, in homeless shelters, or in subsidized traditional housing,” (Social solutions, 2016). Roughly 1.56 million people or about 0.5% in the U.S. population used an emergency shelter, and around 44% of homeless people were employed. Homelessness has always been a problem in big cities across the United States, even around the world. In Arizona alone, they are 25,832 homeless people in the Phoenix area. They are approximately 36,00 homeless people in Downtown Phoenix alone, with a percentage of 61% of Arizona’s population, but an estimated 71 percent of the state’s homeless population. Statewide, approximately 2,500 people are considered unsheltered, who are living on the streets. According to AZ Central, the number of homeless people who are unsheltered have “increased about 25 percent over last year. And the count of 2,059 is up nearly 60 percent from two years ago,” (Goth, 2017). For the last five years, the count of homeless people has risen at an all-time high. Homeless people have been recently being sleeping at bus stops, alleys, or at downtown Phoenix at the central hum of homeless providers. It has increased more throughout the five years with more homeless sightings in Mesa and Tempe. Even though the data has increased, AZ central clarifies that the data changes depending on shelter numbers and the weather. Homeless people are not just older people but they range from all ages. AZ central found “1,746 sheltered singles, a decrease of 9 percent from last year,” to “133 unsheltered single youth, a 28 percent increase from last year” it has been an increased number of youth in the last years since they are either runaways or get involved in
