At this time, there is not only evolution in biology but also in the industrial revolution taking place around the world. Which allows for large machinery to be made and also the ability to easily fix these machines. This is important because it shows how much influence scientists truly had during this time period. Darwin had a strong connection to nature. It's what he devoted his entire life's work to.

Thus, Darwin is implying that when a species uses a certain quality for survival that trait is further developed to increase the likelihood of survival; for example, the beak shapes of finches are morphed to be better suited for certain foods. Darwin also implies that when a certain trait is not used that ability is diminished; for example, a mole cannot see because it lives in the dark most of its life and does not rely on the ability of sight (175-204). Moreover, how an animal or plant adapts is dependent on the use or disuse of a variation, and according to the scholar Noguera-Solano, "the origin of the variation does not arise in order to resolve the organism's needs to adapt" (Noguera-Solano). This means that the origin of the variation is changed from the adaptation in organisms.
Scientific discoveries have the ability to change the world, in not only positive but negative ways as well. The video states that Darwin introduced the world to evolution and the principle of natural selection. This principle states that nature will eliminate weak or unfavorable genes. In essence, nature evolves by means of survival of the fittest. Those species who carry genes that do not help them protect, feed, or mate eventually die out.

During the 1800’s Darwin had this belief that all living things arose from one common ancestor, however by saying this meant that he was questioning God’s creation of living things.
