What is Bullying and how has it Affected People's Lives? Bullying has become a major issue in our society causing psychological problems in children as well as teenagers. We all have wondered why people bully. There are different types of bullying and different types of people who get picked on. Children and adolescence have been negatively affected by being bully victims. It has progressed immensely and our society is beginning to plot ways of approaching and preventing its continuous increase. We all need to stand together as a united front and help in any and every way to stop the bullying. According to a children's website, bullies are people "who purposely hurt others" (ForKids). It has caused them to have a loss of interest in school and hate waking up for it as well. Kids have gone home with black and blues saying they fell down the stair in school when they were actually pushed around and beat up on by their bully. Bullied children have suffered from several mental health issues such as "depression, anxiety, headaches, and adjusting to school" which are considered short-term effects (How does bullying affect health & well-being?). Long-term effects would be the change in self-esteem. From high self-esteem, bully victims drop to a low self-esteem. In accordance to "How does bullying affect health & well-being", kids who are bullied are likely to become drug users, have problems in learning in school, and become violent with others in their future.
